During 70s, Daido Moriyama visited Tono, Iware prefecture, where is the scene of the "Folklore of Tono" written by the anthropologist, Kunio Yanagida. Just like the folklore is the verbatim, which the story is written down exactly what Yanagida has heard from the locals, Daido has aptly recorded what he saw in search of the tales.
This new edition of『TALES of TONO』is published in 2022, after 46 years of the first publishing of a paperback edition.
