Artist Biography
Kazumichi Maruoka [Hiroshima 1978–] works mainly with ceramics and graphic design, often using skull motifs as a central element in his work to reflect themes of death. All pieces are created with sophisticated handwork. In 2020, he provided an original logo design for the album artwork of Boris, a heavy rock band known internationally. Kazumichi Maruoka, who has previously focused on crafting skull-shaped ceramic works such as tea cups, flower pots, sake cups, and sculptural objects, has now expanded the breadth of his artistic expression by incorporating a new element: painted.
