大類 信（おおるい まこと）
70年代初期より雑誌『ROCKIN’ON』でデザイナーを務め、80年代には「Fiction inc.」を設立。『SALE2』の出版やデザインワークを通し、ジョン・ウィリー等欧米のコアなアーティストやフェティッシュカルチャーをいち早く日本に紹介。一つの文化として根付くきっかけを築いた。後に雑誌『purple』ではアートディレクターを務め、RSP （Radical Silence Production）名義では『THE international』を出版し、「videotheque」ではラス・メイヤーのカルト的映画を上映。90年代には、都内にギャラリー兼ナイトクラブ「THE deep」をオープン。「DEEPER THAN UNDERGROUND」をコンセプトの一つとし、90年代後半にはパリでも展開。森山大道による写真展等を開催し、00年代以降はパリに移住した。数々のブームの火付け役であり、アートやエロティシズムへの繊細な美意識とピュアな感覚をもとにジャンルを超えて影響力を持ち続けている。
Makoto Ohrui is a visionary designer and cultural pioneer, a pivotal figure in Japan’s editorial design scene since the early 1970s. Starting with the magazine ROCKIN’ON, he founded the independent publishing company Fiction Inc. in the 1980s, where he introduced the works of Western fetish artists like John Willie and fetish culture to Japan through cutting-edge publications such as SALE 2. In the 1990s, Ohrui launched THE deep, a combined gallery and nightclub in Tokyo, embodying the concept of “Deeper Than Underground.” His impact transcended borders to Paris, where he hosted “THE deep”’s exhibitions featuring renowned photographer Daido Moriyama, and in the 2000s, he took on the role of art director for the magazine purple. Now rooted in Paris, Ohrui continues to seamlessly blend genres and reflect diverse passions through Radical Silence Production (RSP) with his pure, unfiltered approach to art and eroticism.
